A few weeks ago, I was grocery shopping when I got a call from a number I didn't recognize.

The man on the other end asked, “Is this Ela Mitchell? You're a Realtor, right?”

To be honest, I thought it was one of those scam calls we all get. 😅

But we kept talking. He told me about the home he and his wife were looking for, where they were moving from, and what brought them to the area. I was still a little skeptical, but I sent over some homes and we scheduled a showing.

Fast forward a few weeks, and the couple I was nervous about meeting turned out to be some of the kindest, funniest people. What started as a random phone call from complete strangers has turned into great conversations, shared interests, plenty of laughs, and now... we're under contract.

I'm so excited for them and grateful I answered that phone call. 🤍

So happy for my sellers on this one. The home was on the market for 12 days, and early on we did receive an offer… but honestly, it just didn’t feel right. It was questionable, weak, and would’ve meant settling too quickly just for the sake of saying “under contract.”

Instead of jumping at the first thing that came along, we stayed patient, trusted the process, kept showings going, and kept believing the right buyer would come.

That same first offer even came back improved a little later on, but it still wasn’t where it needed to be. We held strong just a few more days and it paid off. We ended up receiving the exact kind of offer we were hoping for: full price, clean terms, and reasonable requests.

Patience really does pay off sometimes.

More than anything, I’m proud of my clients for staying positive through the process and not letting fear or pressure make the decision for them. They kept putting out good energy and trusted that something better was coming and it did.

Sometimes the right strategy is knowing when not to settle short. 🤍

I don't think I've ever had a client this excited.

We had been looking at homes together, and then things suddenly changed and her husband got deployed and had to leave the very next day.

And then… just one day after he left, she found the one.

From that moment on, she was all in.
She would drive by constantly (every 2 days), sending me messages like
“just checking on my beautiful home” 🥹

They had been living in an apartment, so this isn’t just a house. it’s the home he’ll come back to.

She couldn’t wait to close. It was a different kind of excitement.

If you saw my last post, you already know my amazing clients just listed their beautiful home here in Fords Colony. Well… we didn’t waste any time! They’re now under contract on their next home a gorgeous new construction right here in the same community.

Three years ago, I helped them find their first home in Williamsburg when they moved down from Northern Virginia. Since then, we’ve stayed in touch, and it’s been such a joy watching their journey come full circle, selling their big home and downsizing into something that perfectly fits their next chapter.
