Wingate Companies, together with Ann Houston and Henry Korman, recently had the privilege of hosting the Opportunity Communities team at our corporate office for an inspiring fundraising event in support of the Friends of the Fellowship for Equitable Affordable Housing Development (FEAHD).

The evening was filled with powerful and inspiring stories. We were honored to hear firsthand from current program participant Brandon Bennett, alum Alba Solis, and Gonzalo Puigbo, who shared their journeys and the transformative impact this program has had on their lives.

Their stories highlighted the critical role that programs like Friends of FEAHD play in expanding access and opportunity within the affordable housing development space, helping cultivate the next generation of leaders who will shape stronger, more equitable communities.

This past spring, Wingate Companies honored the elderly residents at the Millhouses of Adams by celebrating the 35th annual Silver Cane Award Ceremony. The Silver Cane Award Ceremony is celebrated every May in conjunction with Older Americans Month.

The 2025 recipient is Evelyn Degen, 92. The junior recipient is Lucia Socha, also 92. Senior Property Manager Danielle Senecal, Assistant Property Manager Jennifer Rose, Maintenance Supervisor Jody Goff, and Maintenance Technician Greg Alexander Sr. presented flowers to all that attended💐.

The decorated silver cane was presented to Degen as her proud daughter, Martha Labbee, looked on. The luncheon was catered by Boston Sea Foods, and balloon making was provided by Millhouses of Adams' very own Walter Timoney.
