Wow! Its amazing what color choices will do towards transforming a room. This kitchen was once brown, tan and bland but now its light, bright and blue! What else is there to say? We are thrilled with how this kitchen turned out!

The main living areas of this home felt so much bigger as soon as the dark brown curtains were removed. With those gone, the beautiful window trim was revealed. Fresh paint, new floors, and new lighting fixtures were all these rooms needed to transform.

Ahh yes….the master bedroom. Or is this the front bedroom? Who cares, they all look the same! LOL. We painted the ceilings, trim, and walls to freshen up the bedrooms. And of course we also ran new floors throughout. The key to maintaining the appeal of this room for the new home owner will be furniture at the right scale. This is a cottage after all!

If you couldn’t tell from our last post, WE…LOVE…THIS…BATHROOM! It’s soo beautiful and functional – especially given its small size! Everything ties in so wonderfully – the floors and the quartz vanity top, the walls and the shower accent tile … and then you have those vertically run plank style shower tiles framing the accent tile that bring an unexpected but soothing spa like aesthetic to the design. Plus, the extended vanity top, extra wide mirror, shower niche and linen shelves make sharing this bathroom comfortable. Don’t you want it?!

Is this even the same room?! We promise you it is! Our goal for the master bathroom was to add beauty, function and tie in the color scheme with the blue of the home’s exterior and kitchen backsplash. A big new mirror helps reflect light from the window along with the largely white floors, vanity and vanity top. The textured shower tiles add interest without distracting from the blue accents.

We kept the color scheme in the main/hall bathroom simple by continuing the gray walls from the rest of the house into the room and found an accent tile that matched perfectly. All the white subway tile in the shower and half wall give the gray accents space to shine and keep the room from getting too dark. Who knew white and gray could be so cute?

“Help! Save me from bathroom mediocrity!” – That’s what I imagined this room was saying when I first saw it. And no, we don’t know how the original owners broke the vanity although I did come up with some fun theories. Anyways, we replaced the beige on beige “design” with a white and gray one. Subway tile, agreeably gray walls and accent tile and an awesome vanity made this cottage bathroom less mediocre and more beautiful. Like our page to see more of this bath design tomorrow!

The front walkway leads you to the large stained porch perfect for enjoying the summer breeze fresh off the nearby water.
