Manufactured home fact of the day:

Did you know that prior to 1969 most states, especially NC, did not have a standard code that mobile homes had to meet?

Post 1970, NC and other states started enacting stricter regulations for mobile homes through acts such as the Mobile Home Standard A119.1, also known as ANSI.

up to 1990 and beyond the federal government started eliciting more states and the manufactures who produced these homes in those states to follow HUD standards (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development), so that manufactured homes had to meet higher quality and standards for families who purchased these homes.

Along the line congress officially changed all references in federal laws and regulations from mobile homes to manufactured homes in recognition of the more durable and less mobile nature of modern factory-built homes.
