Managing Estates 🏡

When family dynamics shift, loved ones get older, and life circumstances change, what happens to decades of possessions?

Some have sentimental value, some have monetary value, some can be donated, and some simply need to go. 🗑️

That’s where Organista Home comes in!

We help make sense of the “stuff” while providing easy, real-time communication every step of the way.

For this particular Morganville project, our client lives out of state but remains actively involved in the process.

As we uncover family memorabilia, sentimental treasures, and potentially valuable possessions, we share photos and updates so decisions can be made thoughtfully. Some discoveries even provide an opportunity for father and son to revisit family memories together.

All while honoring the family’s wishes and priorities.

It’s not always a simple job, but Organista Home can help get you to the finish line, one space at a time.

Are you ready to start chipping away?

Are you really using that stationery? 🤔

Or is it just sitting there with good intentions, waiting for the day you might use it?

Do yourself a favor: make the call.

If you’re going to use it, keep it and use it. If you’re not, donate it! Senior homes absolutely LOVE stationery and can’t get enough of it.

Lighten your load and bless someone else at the same time. 🧡

This morning I dropped off a huge box of stationery, and my contact there said, “This will be gone in five minutes.” 🥹

New town, new client! 🧡🏠

Organista Home is in Allenhurst today, helping another client live better with less.

Let’s get to work! 🙌

Purged a little too hard last season 💪😂 Thank goodness it rained! ☔️

I realized it had been time to toss BOTH pairs of my casual sneakers—the bottoms told me so—and I followed my own advice.

Fast forward to yesterday. I’m leaving for an early dinner with the girls in stormy weather and realize I have exactly TWO footwear options:

🥾 Tall rain boots
👟 My messy work/walking sneakers

So I said, “The heck with it,” and wore the tall, hard-to-get-off rain boots. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Food for thought from your professional organizer: When you discard the ONLY one of something you own because it needs replacing, put “BUY A NEW ONE” on your to-do list sooner rather than later.

Apparently, even Organista can purge a little TOO well. 😉

Live better with less…just maybe not with no shoes. 😂

Realizing it’s time to purge my bags 💭

I don’t have too many evening bags, but I definitely have more than I need.

So I gathered them all together, picked my go-to favorites, and decided which ones to sell, consign or give away.

Of course, I checked every zipper and pocket to make sure everything was empty because I’m so on top of that.

Well… apparently not entirely. 😂

I found a crisp $20 bill in a bag I had decided to let go of!

Just goes to show—you never know what you might find, even when you think you’re on top of it. 😉

Is it time to revisit your bag collection?

It’s been a few years…. 💍

We’ve been divorced for a while now, and there’s no communication between us whatsoever.

I looked into selling the ring a while ago. Knowing approximately what had been paid for it, hearing what they were willing to offer me was hard for my ego to accept.

So I kept it.

Not because I wanted it.
Not because I wore it.
Not because anyone in my family wanted it.

I just couldn’t bring myself to let it go for so much less than what it originally cost.

But jewelry, like so many of the things we hold onto, doesn’t necessarily have the resale value we think it does.

Last night I decided: it’s time.

I asked my daughter and daughter-in-law one last time if either of them wanted it. They didn’t.

So today, I let it go. 💍

A couple of dollars went into my pocket, an empty ring box came home with me, and something I no longer needed to carry is gone.

And you know what?

It feels great.

Sometimes the value isn’t in what you get for something.

Sometimes the value is simply in finally releasing it. ❤️

Are you ready to lovingly release?

Another space we’re making major headway in! 💪

Sell. Scrap metal. Donate. Toss.

We’re working through it piece by piece and making decisions about what stays and what goes.

And because our client lives out of state, we’re his eyes and ears on the ground — keeping him updated and communicating as decisions need to be made.

You don’t have to live nearby to get a property cleaned out and under control.

Have a garage, basement, estate or other space that needs help? Think Organista Home. 🏡

The bins are bad ❌

CLOTHING DONATIONS: Clothing donated in collection bins may not reach those in need. Kane In Your Corner checked a sample of bins in the region and found nearly all were run by for-profit clothing resellers who pay a charity for the use of its name.
