Scandinavian interior and exterior design originated in the Nordic countries in the early 20th century. It rose during the Nordic modernist movement and emphasized simple, affordable, functional, and well-made furniture. It tends towards bright interiors to contrast the long, dark winters of that region. The style gained traction in the United States in the 1950s and developed along-side mid-century-modern. If you look closely, the two styles share a great deal of similarity, showcasing the preferences of those living in the mid-twentieth century were oriented toward functionality over ornateness and extravagance.

Quinn explains how pole barns are built. The big difference between a post-frame building style and a traditional stick-built structure is that post-frame buildings are supported by poles. The concrete slab is then poured after the fact. Stick-builds on the other hand start with a foundation and then are built up.
