Looking for something different to do this weekend?

Load your car up with your family and blankets/chairs and catch an outdoor movie at Falconwood Park. We took the dogs to see a movie last summer and everyone had a great time.

In honor of the CWS, they’ll be showing The Sandlot on Saturday, and anyone wearing a baseball or softball uniform will get free popcorn from their concessions.

If you've never been to a drive-in, this might be the weekend to try it. And if baseball isn't your thing, Falconwood always seems to have something fun on their calendar, so they're worth following for future events.

Last year, I went through the PGA HOPE program as a participant. This year, I have the opportunity to give back as a volunteer, and last night was my second week helping with the program.

PGA HOPE is a free golf program for veterans and active-duty service members of all skill levels. Whether you’ve never picked up a club before or you’ve been playing for years, it’s a great way to learn, improve your game, and connect with other military members who understand your experiences.

One of the best parts of the program is the community. Some of the friendships I made through PGA REACH Nebraska have extended well beyond the golf course. Three of the people I met through the program even attended our wedding, which just goes to show how meaningful these programs can be.

This program is nation-wide, so no matter where you are If you’re a veteran or active-duty service member who’s been thinking about trying golf or just looking for a way to connect with others, I can’t recommend it enough. They will teach you everything you need to now and clubs are available if you don’t have your own, so all you have to do is show up.
