The Orange County Property Appraiser is responsible for identifying, locating, and fairly valuing all property, both real and personal, within the county for tax purposes. The "market" value of real property is based on the current real estate market. Finding the "market" value of your property means discovering the price most people would pay for your property in its current condition. Determining a fair and equitable value is the only role of this office in the taxing process.

We love receiving amazing comments from our constituents, like this one: "I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the entire OCPA staff for the professionalism, courtesy, and patience extended to me during my visit... regarding my homestead exemption and Save Our Homes matter. The meeting lasted nearly an hour, and I was very grateful for the time and attention given to reviewing my case. I especially appreciated the willingness of your team to listen carefully, examine the circumstances, and advise that the matter would be looked into further and corrected if warranted. Everyone I encountered was courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. Please extend my thanks and appreciation to the entire staff involved. Thank you again for your time and assistance.

Last week, OCPA had the honor of participating in "Encuentro FL 2026: 10 Years. One Journey. Endless Impact.”

We were grateful and proud to join community leaders, nonprofits, funders, and elected officials from across the state in celebrating a decade of advocacy, collaboration, and collective impact to strengthen our communities.

The work that Hispanic Federation does in our community is immense and incredibly important, and we are proud to stand alongside them in this shared mission.

Thank you to everyone who continues to be part of this meaningful journey.

La semana pasada, OCPA tuvo el honor de participar en “Encuentro FL 2026: 10 Años. Un Camino. Un Impacto Sin Límites”.

Estamos agradecidos y orgullosos de haber compartido con líderes comunitarios, organizaciones sin fines de lucro, financiadores y funcionarios electos de todo el estado en la celebración de una década de colaboración, defensa e impacto colectivo para fortalecer nuestras comunidades.

Property Appraiser Amy Mercado is proud to join the upcoming Property Tax Town Hall hosted by Senator Kristen Arrington and Representative Rita Harris.

This community event will provide residents with helpful information, resources, and updates on property taxes, as well as elected officials dedicated to serving Orange County.
