🏠💡 Hey friends, let's talk real estate reality for a moment! 🚀

We've all heard the age-old advice: "Wait for mortgage rates to drop before taking the homeownership plunge." But let's put on our time-travel goggles and journey through the decades to see if this waiting game holds up. 🕰️

In the '70s, mortgage rates were grooving between 7-11%, and homes were a steal at an average of $23,600. The '80s cranked it up to a disco fever of 13-16%, and homes were dancing around $64,600. Fast forward to the '90s, where rates averaged 6-10%, and the average home price jumped to $122,900.

Now, here's the kicker: if you waited for rates to hit rock bottom in the early 2000s at around 8%, the average home price had already climbed to $169,000. Fast forward to the 2010s, where rates were reasonable at 4-5%, and homes were now averaging at $221,800. By the roaring '20s (2020), rates might have fluctuated, but homes reached an average of $322,800.

The lesson here? Waiting might not always be the savvy move. 🤔 While you're waiting for those rates to do the limbo, home prices might be doing a moonwalk of their own.
