Hometown Facts Friday! 🏡

Did you know one of the most iconic buildings in Historic St. Andrews has a special place in my family’s history?

The building we all know today as Uncle Ernie’s dates back to the late 1800s and is one of the oldest homes still standing in St. Andrews. Before it became the beloved waterfront restaurant it is today, it served as a family home. To help preserve this piece of Bay County history, the home was carefully relocated to its current location overlooking St. Andrews Bay, where it continues to be enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. ⚓

This home was once the home of one of my ancestors—one of my great-great (or maybe even great-great-great! 😄) uncles. I love knowing that my family’s roots are woven into the history of the community I now get to serve as a Realtor. ❤️

One of my favorite parts of real estate is that every home has a story, and this one has been part of Bay County’s story for well over a century. 🏡
