Originally developed as the summer playground for some of Cleveland’s wealthiest industrial titans, the exclusive residential community of Bratenahl is known for its architectural grandeur, lush tree canopy and waterfront views.

“Lake Erie is part of the rhythm of life here,” says village Mayor Keith Benjamin.

Ownership is as much about prestige as it is about privacy and square footage, locals said, a viewpoint that was reaffirmed when Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce purchased a $5.35 million historic estate here, putting the village in the national spotlight.

Kelce’s purchase is the highest recorded home sale in Bratenahl, according to listing agents David Ayers and Nick Zawitz of The Agency Cleveland.
