🏠💙 A NEW HOME FOR OTTAWA PADS! đź’™đźŹ
October 1 was a very special day for Illinois Valley PADS as we celebrated the opening of our new Ottawa PADS shelter at 1120 Canal Street!
This has been a long journey, made possible by the vision, dedication, and generosity of our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, donors, community partners, and so many others who believed in this dream.
Our mission is simple: to provide shelter, food, and services to those who are homeless in our communities to build a brighter future.
Our new 11,264-square-foot facility is more than a building. It is a place of safety, dignity, opportunity, and hope for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this dream a reality, including James Hardie, the EPA Brownfields Program, the City of Ottawa, DCEO, Federal Home Loan Bank, First National Bank of Ottawa, Capital for Compassion, architect Mike Kmetz, Vissering Construction, and all the subcontractors and volunteers who contributed to this project.
A very special thank-you goes to our dedicated PADS staff, who worked tirelessly throughout this transition while continuing to care for our clients.
