Another Month in the Life of a Real Estate Agent:
I have to admit, I had a “Pollyanna” notion that we would be back to somewhat normal by now. Although we are not there yet, I am continuing to focus on the positives and on what I can do to feel the best I can until we reach that “yellow light” status.
In our 5-county area – Montgomery, Philadelphia, Bucks, Delaware & Chester - with limited exceptions, face-to-face meetings for real estate are still not permissible. However, we do continue to market virtually, and we will be ready to meet with clients in person as soon as we are safely permitted to do so by the state. The good news is that Builders were able to start construction up again on May 1st. There are safety guidelines set forth by the state, and Sal Paone, Builder has put them in place and is in compliance. We are finally enjoying warmer weather and with it comes the opportunity to open up the windows and let the fresh air in! One of the first things I do each day, regardless of the weather, is open my blinds, shutters, and shades, so my home is flooded with daylight. To me, it is a real mood lifter.
The experts are telling us how important exercise is for both physical and mental well-being. My favorite form of exercise is walking. Ideally, I like to walk outside listening to my favorite Spotify playlist, “Have a Great Day.” On days when the weather does not cooperate, however, I put Leslie Sansone’s walking exercise videos on YouTube. There are enough workouts available to shake things up a bit and most are only 30 minutes. I am also finding that I am actually speaking to friends & family members on the phone rather than just texting. I make a point of walking while I am on any phone call, which helps me towards my “step goal” each day.
So, my love affair with cooking is waning a bit. To break things up, my husband and I treat ourselves to curbside pick up once a week. We patronize our favorite neighborhood restaurants where we would normally be dining in person. And on the subject of food, did you know there have been a plethora of online searches for recipes for banana bread? According to Well+Good one of the reasons is people have overripe bananas, as well as the other simple ingredients on hand to make banana bread.

Like many of my friends, my outfit of choice these days is a pair of black yoga pants or capris (elastic waist) and a tee or sweatshirt. It occurred to me last night as I was putting away the laundry that my selection of tops was getting very repetitive for virtual meetings. So, I dug deep into the recesses of my drawers and discovered some golden oldies that have not seen the light of day in some time. For me, it was a trip down memory lane of my children’s education – grade school, high school, and college souvenirs. I snapped a photo to share with my kids, who are now all living on their own. Of course, prominently featured was my high school alma mater as I am proud to be a “Prendie Girl!”
Stay safe, stay home, and keep your sense of humor!
