Hi all, City employee here. OPA uses a mass appraisal system to assess 580,000 properties. Mistakes will occur. As someone mentioned, wait for your official letter, which will come with instructions on how to submit a first level review or appeal. The letter will come with a barcoded form that will make processing easier. Moreover, ask yourself, could you sell your house for more than the assessed value? Someone mentioned anomalies with the block, that's a great example of when to submit an FLR or appeal. There is a hotline, (215) 686-9200, that can help walk you through the process, but wait until you get your letter. You have until October 7 to submit paperwork.
