Rejection…Let’s talk about it. It’s a long post so bear with me. This job gives it to you straight if you like it or not. Realtors are really good at showing the highs of real estate, myself included. But we don’t show the lows. The rejection, the disappointments, even soul crushing losses sometimes. Except for That account is the real deal. 😂
Here are a few examples of messages I’ve received from clients recently. Some are totally understandable circumstances and some are just like “poof! I don’t need you.” …ugh. 😢
Why do you do this job if there is constant rejection? There is a thrill of watching someone walk into a home and they can imagine their whole life there. When they look at the kitchen and say, “I can’t wait to cook here!” Or the backyard! “The kids will love this backyard! It’s perfect for the dogs!” Or how they already start designing the home the moment they walk in. I LOVE being in that convo with them. Design always has my heart. This scenario didn’t happen to me personally, but my partners had an ailing client at the end of her life and all she wanted was a view of the Phx desert before she passes away. Stuff like that doesn’t leave you. But makes you appreciate your job even more.
Some days, I wanna throw in the towel. When I look back in my memories and see how long I’ve been trying to chase this career, I can’t walk away from some clients who said no to me. Or I didn’t hit my sales goals, or whatever excuse I can make for myself.
That rejection made room for the right family who needed me. Okay, God. I see what you did there. Thank you!!!! 🙏🏼
I also think it’s who you surround yourself with in this business that keeps you going. A team that supports you, celebrates your wins, grieves your losses. That’s irreplaceable. Having good friends who listen to your whoas. Having a supportive partner who won’t let you give up. Priceless. If you made it through this, thank you for reading. That’s all I have for a Sunday morning thoughts. 🙏🏼😂
