at 5 pm
on a 113 degree day is not among them!! 😅
I hope you are all “weathering”the Summer heat , now that it’s arrived!
I do miss you all — try to stay cool and hydrated!

13 years since that tragic day when 19 men of the Granite Mountain hotshot crew lost their lives while
battling the Yarnell Hill Fire.
I’ll never forget how people came from all corners of the world to help this community honor them and help us stagger through our grief.
Hometown girl Jordin Sparks returned to sing her heart out at the Prescott Strong Memorial.
I cried then as she sang Amazing Grace and I’m tearful now remembering the brave lives lost then and the lives lost recently in the battle to save our communities!
God Bless the Granite Mountain 19 and their heartbroken families.. we never will forget them… Amen! 🙏🏿

Happy Juneteenth!! 🖤💚♥️
My heart is overflowing from a week filled with joy and hope!
Not just on TV with The Obama Presidential Center, the Knicks celebration,
& the joy of foreign World Cup visitors reveling in the diversity that is America—
but the dynamic Juneteenth celebrations held across the valley were amazing to see!
Thanks to Todd Bailey of the Az Historical Society, who organized the beautiful Juneteenth celebration showcasing young local talent!!
It was an amazing day, and such a thrill to be honored there…
I remain inspired & hopeful because we’ve got work to do!
Yes, it’s daunting, as it was for our ancestors!
So, let us clasp hands
and keep singing
and keep dancing
and keep praying
and keep moving forward!
Amen 🙏🏿

I came so close to falling for this “offer “ from Costco!
Just fill out a survey and get a free Yeti Wagon!
Then before putting in payment info for the $11.99 shipping fee,
I decided to google quickly and see if it is a scam… and it was!
I’m relieved , but really mad at myself for almost falling for it… I don’t even need a wagon!! 😂

Don’t get too excited — this storm is from our last Monsoon - August of 2025!

Today June 15th, 2026 marks the beginning of what I now call
“THE MONSOON LOTTERY”!!
It was hit and miss for many valley neighborhoods last Summer, hoping for better luck this year!

Class of ‘77 is like being in heaven was my chant!! 🙌🏾
This week a few of us former CBHS students gathered at Duck & Decanter at 16th St/Camelback in Phx with a beloved teacher, Ann Steel Tully for lunch!
“ The Duck” was a favorite spot to sneak off to when we ditched school early!
What an absolute joy to reconnect with the people who survived the teenage angst of the 1970’s with me!
We decided we had it good… really good!
Goooo SPARTANS !! 🧡💙
Gary Saks was there in person — Orlando was there in A.I. spirit!
