🍒 Today is National Cherry Turnover Day!

Celebrate with this quick, easy, and delicious Homemade Cherry Turnover Recipe that's perfect for breakfast, dessert, or an afternoon treat!

Homemade Cherry Turnovers

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Bake Time: 20–25 minutes
Servings: 8

Ingredients
1 package (2 sheets) frozen puff pastry, thawed
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
1 egg
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Glaze
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Unfold the puff pastry and cut each sheet into 4 squares.
Spoon 2–3 tablespoons of cherry pie filling into the center of each square.
Fold each square into a triangle and press the edges together with a fork to seal.
Whisk together the egg and water, then brush over each turnover.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
Mix together the glaze ingredients and drizzle over the turnovers once they have cooled for about 10 minutes.

Enjoy warm and serve with a cup of coffee or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra special treat!
