With freezing temperatures on the way, now is the time to safeguard your home from potential winter damage. Here are the essential steps to take before the cold hits:

Protect Your Pipes:Disconnect outdoor hoses, cover spigots, and wrap exposed pipes with insulation or towels. Let indoor faucets drip slightly during the coldest hours, and make sure you know where your main water shutoff is located in case of emergencies
Prevent Ice Dams:Clear your gutters and downspouts to ensure proper drainage. Trim any loose tree branches that could fall on your roof or power lines, and bring outdoor furniture inside to prevent damage.

Prepare for Power Outages:Charge all devices and power packs now. Stock up on flashlights, batteries, bottled water, and ready-to-eat foods that don't require cooking. Having a manual can opener on hand is a smart move too.
