I filed public records requests to find out exactly how money is moving between Arkansas state government and the National Deer Association. What appears to be happening in Arkansas looks a whole lot like what happened in Missouri. The game agency pays NDA, NDA hires six game agency employees, and then the public gets a private nonprofit sitting in the middle of deer management, CWD work, landowner programs, hunting policy and our hunting heritage. If Arkansas taxpayer dollars, license dollars, or federal wildlife money is being used to fund NDA’s work, then hunters deserve to know every dollar, every contract, every agreement, and every name attached to it.

And when I find out who voted for it, I plan to name them publicly. I want to know which Arkansas state representatives and senators supported money going to the National Deer Association, why they supported it, and whether they still stand by it. There is an election coming in November, and hunters deserve to know whether the people representing them are protecting hunting culture or helping hand more influence to a government funded nonprofit that does not answer to voters. I’m going to call them out one by one until there is real accountability, and until other state legislatures think twice before sending money to NDA.

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

Isaiah 53:5

Good Friday isn’t just another man made holiday meant to hide the truth. Jesus Christ is the reason for everything and without him we are nothing.

Keep praying and believe in Jesus. No matter what you are going through look and live. Look to Jesus and live.
