One question we hear a lot during the framing stage is:

“Isn’t all that rain and water on the OSB decking a problem?”

The reality is that some exposure to rain during construction is completely normal. Materials like OSB roof and floor decking are designed to withstand temporary weather exposure while a home is being built. You’ll often see water sitting on subfloors or roof decking after a storm, but that doesn’t automatically mean there’s damage.

As builders, we continuously monitor moisture levels, allow materials to properly dry, and inspect for any signs of swelling or deterioration before moving to the next phase of construction. Proper installation, drainage, ventilation, and drying time are all critical parts of the process.

Building a home isn’t just about putting materials together—it’s about understanding how those materials perform throughout every stage of construction.

One of the coolest stages of building a home is when the interior walls go up. What was once an open floor plan is now becoming bedrooms, bathrooms, and living spaces. It’s exciting to watch a vision turn into reality!

Making room for the next phase! We had to relocate this dirt pile so power can be brought to the house. It's a good reminder to plan ahead and avoid placing dirt or materials in areas where utility lines will need to be installed. Progress is happening every day—stay tuned for more updates! ⚡🏡
