Welp...this is where we are at with interest rates. Personally I was hoping for mid to low 6 range by now. Buying a home now with these interest rates shouldn't deter you, let's find a home that will fit your budget. Those homes are out there, especially now before buyers are out in force in the spring. Let's go home finding together, I love the challenge of finding a home for any budget.

📈 Mortgage Rates Update! This week, mortgage rates went up again, with the 30-year fixed rate averaging 7.04%, marking the first time it’s crossed 7% since May 2024. This is the fifth week in a row that rates have increased, driven by the strong economy. Even though rates are rising, Freddie Mac research shows shoppers can save money by comparing quotes from multiple lenders!

To rephrase this headline is 6%-7% are normal interest rates. Higher interest rates have been in history of home buying as well. 13% or higher was not normal in the 80's but it happened. The 2%-3% was abnormally low for almost a generation of buyers. We can get a sense of mortgage rates by looking back historically to see where we may land in 2025. Weekend home tour top favorites. Willamette Heights is one of my favorite neighborhoods in the Portland metro area. This arts and crafts home is was a delight to tour and gorgeous inside and out. This 5863 square foot home situated on just over a half acre of beautifully landscaped land gives plenty of space to spread out and relax. Located a stones throw away from the trails of Forest Park and a quick trip to the shops and restaurants of NW 23rd. From the chefs kitchen to the spa like sanctuary of the primary bedroom this home has everything and more you could ever want in a home.
