“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:8-10). It is by God’s grace that we are able to experience salvation. This was brought forth by the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ who is recorded to be the “Author and Finisher” of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). This is a free gift from God that cost us nothing. No one can work/earn this, therefore NO person should place themselves above anyone and brag on their accomplishments in such a way that promotes them. God created us in Christ Jesus to carry out His will long before we ever entered the atmosphere of the earth. He has already established everything that is needed and the pathway that we are to walk in to execute/perform His will for our lives. Many people place value in titles behind their name, fame amongst the people, eloquent speeches, performances, lifestyles, and many other things. In actuality we should be humbling ourselves under the mighty hand of God that He may exalt us in due time and stop seeking our own glory. We should evaluate our lives in comparison to that of Christ and give thanks to God for grace and mercy. Christ and Him crucified is what made the way for us, not titles and all the other things that we like to brag about. Jesus was God in the flesh and come in riding on a donkey. He modeled humility and we should be doing the same.
