In 2025 Louisiana and Mississippi combined to produce a little over 300 million bushels of corn on nearly 1.5 million planted acres. That falls in line with the national average for 🌽 yields. I was able to get this drone footage of some of that MS Delta corn being harvested a couple weeks ago. Enjoy!

We are well into August, it's HOT, dry, and dusty. You know what that means? It's harvest time in the Delta. Last week I was out in Northeast Louisiana and the Mississippi Delta performing my last round of farm inspections for the year. The soybeans and corn were both cutting out nicely with good yields, with some rice harvests getting under way as well. The bright sun and clear skies made for some great drone shots! Thought I would share the scenes with you all. Enjoy!

Did you know that government agricultural programs aren't just for massive commercial operations? There is a ton of support out there for small-scale producers and hobby farmers, too!

Last week, our local Soil and Water Conservation District teamed up with the Louisiana Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative to host an awesome field day. They put on a live demonstration of a no-till drill, which is actually available for anyone in the community to rent directly through the local office.

It’s a perfect example of the great resources available to help you manage your land without breaking the bank. Plus, these events are a fantastic way to swap stories, network, and learn from other local growers.
