Greetings Neighbor! Introducing My First Scarecrow. 🎃

True Steward is participating in the Reedsport Main Street Scarecrow Contest this year and I had way too much fun with this. As a business joining in alongside our community residents I decided to display mine at home because honestly that felt more like me.
Be gentle, it is my first one. 😄

Greetings Neighbor! Has anyone else checked out the new outdoor fitness equipment at Barrone Park yet? I have been putting it to use and I have to say it is a great addition to our community. Fresh air, a little movement and no gym membership or gear required. If you have not tried it yet I highly recommend it. Drop a comment and let me know what you think! 🦅

Reedsport Rising is back for year two, and we hope you'll join us!

Last year, local restaurants, brewers, and neighbors came together for a night of good food and giving back. It started with a simple idea: Bring our community together to feed our community. This year we're doing it again, and our goal is simple. Raise money for the Reedsport Food Pantry so our neighbors have food on the table this winter.

Enjoy local food and spirits from our participating restaurants and beverage vendors, plus a dessert auction, a silent auction, and a whole room full of neighbors looking out for each other.
100% of the proceeds go directly to the Food Pantry.

Greetings Neighbor! September Adopted-a-Park cleanup is done. Renaldo and I were out at the park this morning and as always the park had plenty to say.

The usual suspects made an appearance along with a few surprises. The zip ties continue their monthly streak and this month we added pink boa feathers to the collection. I have questions.

Our parks deserve better and showing up consistently is how we keep them that way. 🦅

Greetings Neighbor! September is the time of year when pests start looking for a warm place to spend the winter and unfortunately that place is often your home. As temperatures drop, rats, mice, ants, and cockroaches and all begin making their move indoors through any crack or gap they can find.

Here are a few tips worth knowing right now:

🐜 For ants, skip the Terro and try Adion Ant Bait instead. Pest control professionals have found it significantly more effective at eliminating the colony rather than just the ants you can see.

🕳️ Walk the exterior of your home and look for any gaps or holes where pipes, wires or vents enter the structure. Fill them with a pest repellent foam which not only seals the entry point but also treats any pests already using that space as a highway into your home.

🐭 Rodents can squeeze through an opening as small as a quarter inch so do not overlook anything that looks too small to matter.

A little prevention now saves a much bigger headache come winter.

Greetings Neighbor! Sharing this important update from the City of Reedsport for anyone who lives, works or owns property in the lower portion of town. The levee reconstruction is officially underway and this is a big deal for our community. A few things worth noting if this affects your daily routine:

Champion Park will be used as a staging area and intermittent closures are likely. Plan accordingly if that is part of your regular route or routine.

Construction zones will be active around Laurel Street, Port Dock Road and the Coho Marina area so please slow down and be patient with traffic delays.
