Kyle grew up in Northern California and attended UC Berkeley before spending over a decade in law enforcement, most of it as a homicide and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) detective in the San Francisco Bay Area. After years of visiting Nevada, he and his wife relocated with their four children to Pleasant Valley in 2023.

Kyle has been in real estate for 10+ years, working almost exclusively in the short-term rental space. He's built a personal brand on social media around short-term rentals and family/lifestyle (.A.Paterson on Instagram) and has coached 200+ people in the STR space, now through his own consulting community, The STR Operator Circle — guiding operators on sourcing markets, underwriting deals, setting up properties correctly, and managing them the right way — and has helped launch roughly 150 properties with clients in 30 states and three countries along the way. He also owns and operates a personal portfolio of luxury short-term rentals across multiple states, generating more than seven figures in annual revenue.

Kyle is joining Dickson Realty alongside the launch of Bespoke Hospitality, his boutique short-term rental management company operating on both the California and Nevada sides of Lake Tahoe, which will begin accepting management clients in September. Bespoke was born out of a gap Kyle saw locally: agents hesitant to refer clients to STR management companies for fear of losing track of the relationship. Bespoke is built on a simple promise: send us your client, and we'll honor the referral and keep you in the loop — and furthermore, we'll provide a higher level of service than any other management company, backed by the things we do best: design, optimization, and automation.
