Come see us tomorrow at the Rising Sun Sunfest. Hosted by the Rising Sun Chamber of Commerce. We will be sharing how we help residents in Cecil County identify their boundary lines and improve their property by providing Boundary Surveys, Alta Surveys, FEMA Elevation Certificates, Subdivision and Add-on plats. We also provide construction layout and as-built services. We will have some equipment to show off including our 3D scanner and manning our booth will be our good looking staff. Let’s start the new year with new gear! Rock Run Surveying purchased a DJI Phantom 4 RTK drone, which utilizes a built in, survey grade GPS and ground targets with built in GPS. This enables us to get accurate ground information from the sky that is repeatable. Coupling this with our 3D terrestrial scanner, we can create a 3D model of our large projects. If it’s a shopping mall, quarry, road corridor or lots of acreage. We have you covered. FAA part 107 certified and insured, we are ready to map it. 🗺

On Sunday I had the opportunity to teach the Land Surveying merit badge to a group of Scouts at the Baltimore County Council STEM event. Four surveyors and an engineer each from different companies worked together to help all of the scouts in the group achieve one of the oldest and least earned merit badges still in circulation.

Getting observations on this monument would be a great start to the day. This NGS monument is located at the end of fort fisher. The datasheet provides useful information for surveyors and engineers. Send us photos of monuments you have come across!
