In Denmark, children aged 6 to 16 take part in a weekly class called “klassens tid”, or class time, where the focus isn’t on grades or tests — it’s on kindness, empathy, and understanding. 💛
During these sessions, kids sit together in a safe space to talk, listen, and solve small problems before they grow into bigger ones. Teachers help guide conversations about feelings, inclusion, and responsibility, encouraging every child to have a voice and to understand how their actions affect others.
The lessons go beyond human relationships. Danish schools also teach children to care for animals, showing that empathy extends to all living things. From people to pets, students learn that kindness is a skill — one that builds stronger, more compassionate communities.
