As I sit here this morning, getting ready to spend Thanksgiving day with my family I have been reflecting on past gatherings. It has been some time since I spent the day cooking a full dinner, over the past 6 years we have been blessed to spend this day with my sister-in-law and her family.
But I remember my grandmother peeling potatoes in the kitchen and my mother baking her famous cheesecake and apple pie. My grandfather in the living room watching TV and my brothers arriving home to torment their little sister (me).
My brother , Chuck, and I would sit on the front porch and sing songs while dinner was being prepared and the fireplace was keeping the spirit of the day warm inside.
Family is important, memories are precious and friends help you remember days gone by and bring laughter and love.
Today I wish you all peace, love and memories that you will remember in the years to come.
We lost my husband's father to Covid a few weeks ago, a seat that will be empty and as always i still miss my mom, but their influence and love for their family can still be felt.
May God bless you and your family.
Now, I am off to begin putting the final touches to this Thanksgiving day and get ready to enjoy a great dinner and time with my family. Be safe. Be kind and wear your mask. This is a year we will never forget so create a memory this year. Love to you all.
