There are some people in our community whose work deserves to be talked about more and Placer PROTECT is one of them.

I attended the Lincoln Aging Well Speaker Series today and had the opportunity to hear more about the work being done to protect older adults from fraud, financial exploitation and abuse.

And I have to say this: victim advocates are angels in our community. They often meet people on one of the worst days of their lives, step into situations most of us never see, and somehow bring compassion, resources and a path forward.

I love seeing Placer County educating communities before a crisis happens and making sure people know where to turn when it does.

And there’s another opportunity coming up that is absolutely worth putting on your calendar:

Placer PROTECT Senior Resource Fair

More than 60 senior-focused resource providers will be there, along with local agencies and organizations serving older adults and their families. It’s free, and if you’re caring for a parent, helping an aging loved one, or simply want to know what resources exist in Placer County, this is one I’d mark on the calendar.

Our seniors deserve to feel safe, informed and protected.

I walked into the Latino Leadership Council’s 12th Annual Forum today expecting a great event and to see some of my most favorite people. I left thinking, this is exactly why I love being part of this community.

The whole morning was colorful, flavorful, thoughtful and incredibly enriching. The food- 🔥 the music 💃 the conversations, it felt like culture and community were woven into every little detail.

There’s something pretty special about sitting in a room filled with people who are willing to listen, learn from one another and have meaningful conversations about the communities we all call home.

What a beautiful morning in Rocklin. Grateful to have had a seat at the table. ❤️❤️❤️

We traded the daily grind for a day celebrating Dan’s Greek roots! 🇬🇷💙

Greek food, music, and a little dancing at the Roseville Greek Festival, what could be better?

One of my favorite things about living in Placer County is getting out and enjoying the celebrations that make our community feel so connected. Great food, beautiful traditions, and even better company. Such a fun event!

Life transitions aren’t always easy. If I’m being honest, having my children grow up and leave home has been one of the hardest seasons of my life. It’s a chapter filled with pride, but also grief for a life that changed before I was ready.

Being surrounded by such wonderful people, sharing an incredible meal, and beginning the evening with grace was exactly what my heart needed. It was a beautiful reminder that while one chapter closes, another begins—and that community makes those transitions a little easier.

Thank you, Dustin and Lisa, for opening your home and creating such a meaningful evening. It was one I’ll remember.

Tucked away in the heart of Lincoln is one of my favorite go-to spots, The vibe is energetic, yet still warm and inviting — the kind of place that instantly feels like community.

Joe has clearly poured his heart and soul into this little Lincoln treasure, and you can feel it the moment you walk in. The music was incredible - thank you , amazing energy, and one of my favorite parts of living in Lincoln… randomly running into neighbors and friends while enjoying a good night out. Those small-town moments never get old.

Today members of my legislative and communications team had the honor of joining the (Em)power + Resilience Project at the State Capitol for the Second Annual Statewide Survivor Advocacy Day.

This incredible peer-to-peer network, supported by the Placer County District Attorney's office, is truly filling the gap in survivor support. Through its three arms, Grief, Advocacy, and Process, E+R is creating space for survivors to heal in the way they need, connect with others who understand, access resources, trainings, and opportunities to drive real change.

This organization advocates for stronger fentanyl and DUI accountability, better mental health diversion, CDCR transparency, victim rights, smarter parole policies, and so much more.

Our team enjoyed the opportunity to talk a bit also about the nature of representing our rural district. It was also great to meet some of our constituents personally! A special thank you to .b.freedman of the Placer County DA's office for including our office on this impactful day. Your work
