Gold Posse - Mike
Out doing a little Gold Discovery training for about 20 kids from a home school group of my daughter. Did some panning using pay dirt purchased from Pioneer Mining and metal detecting using my Minelab GM2000 and Garrett AT Max. All find gold in their pan and all located the hidden half dollars.

Went out to the Alpha hydraulic Pit yesterday, met a couple from Clear Lake one with a Garrett Axiom and one with Mine Lab Monster 2000. The 2000 was cleaning up on the Axiom In terms of finding the gold.
My 2000 performed great, unfortunately I was finding lead shot. I was trying a trick that I learned of getting it in the scoop then transferring to a baggy to pan out later. Should of actually checked a couple as I dug them up rather than trusting every sound in the scoop was the shiny. I did find a modern dime that someone dropped.

Gold Posse heading out this morning to test the waters on S Yuba looking for the shiny. Josh, Jim and Mike bringing the sluice, new 2000, and doing several test pans to hunt it down.

Bad thing happened recently, someone decided they needed my Minelab Monster 1000 more than I did. Someone took it out of the back my car yesterday morning. Unfortunately, insurance will only give $250 for it. Looks like I will be using the Garrett AT Max again.
