Starting in his teenage years, Steve worked with Canine Companions for Independence and ran youth bowling leagues and tournaments; in college, as vice president of the Computer Engineering Club, he established a volunteer program at a local elementary school. After college, Steve volunteered as a Big Brother, coached youth football and was on the Board of Directors for the team. After having kids, Steve has continued to be engaged in their activities, volunteering in their sports and as an Assistant Den Leader in cub scouts and as a merit badge counselor and board of review member in Scouting, BSA.
