So awesome 👏
I wanted to provide the community with an important update about the future of Clover Valley in Rocklin. After years of an effort led by Jessup University, the funding to permanently conserve more than 400 acres in Clover Valley has been completed. This couldn't have been done without a lot of partnership, with the final, important piece coming from the Placer County Office of Education, led by Superintendent Gayle Garbolino-Mojica, seven board members (see photo below and press release linked below). A special thank you to Rocklin's representative on the board, David Patterson.
The education agency saw the unmistakable opportunity to use Clover Valley as a great educational asset for all of Placer County and invested the final amount needed to secure this purchase.
Together, the Placer County Office of Education, the City of Rocklin, Placer County, the City of Lincoln, Placer Land Trust, Jessup and private donors invested in this conservation effort. Jessup continues on work to add another 52 acres to this preservation area, which would be terrific for our community. A very special thanks to John Jackson, President of Jessup University for his vision and leadership, our Placer County Government Board of Supervisors, Rocklin Mayor Jill Gayaldo Rocklin City Council, Dave Bass - Rocklin City Council, Placer Land Trust's Jeff Darlington and for all those at the Clover Valley Foundation who've advocated for this preservation for many years.
Public access to Clover Valley drove my support for this effort -- it will take a while to realize that and get the trails in that we need. Happy to answer any questions below or feel free to call me at 916-718-1251.
