Frank Shapiro once said, “What it meant to be really strong and tough was not by knocking someone out, or insulting them, or pushing them around, or looking down on them, or by saying no when they needed help — it’s by doing the right thing.”
His words remind us that true strength lies in compassion, humility, and integrity. It’s disheartening to see how much of that warmth and humanity is missing in today’s leadership.
Frank Shapiro’s legacy continues to inspire those who believe that doing the right thing—especially when it’s hard—is the foundation of real leadership. As a nation, we can honor his memory by striving to bring those values back to the forefront: putting people before politics, and principle before pride.
