ATTENTION any soon-to-be sellers who are approaching closing day—you can NOT wait until the day you close to move out!
A final walk through needs to be done the day before or morning of closing and contractually you are required to be completely moved out and the home must be left in broom swept condition on closing day!
In the past 4 weeks I’ve had 3 buyers on closing day get caught up in terrible situations where sellers have either decided to leave almost an entire house full of furniture and personal items in their home or decided to move out on closing day.
Not only does this cause an extreme amount of grief for buyers who often times have moving trucks scheduled to arrive on closing day, but it also causes the seller a lot of stress and a whole lot of money to remedy the problem when they end up having to hire junk companies in addition to movers to remove the remaining items from the house!
I’m not sure why I’ve had this happen 3 times in a 1-month period when I’ve only seen it happen only 1 other time in my 22 years selling real estate so I thought it might be worth spreading the word to sellers.
It’s terrible to see what should be one of the most exciting days of a buyer’s life turn out to be so frustrating and disappointing.
Couldn’t help but share photos to prove my point. 😔😔😔
