Most people hear "short sale" and immediately think something is wrong with the house.

Not necessarily.

A short sale simply means the homeowner owes more on the mortgage than the home is worth, so the lender has to approve the sale.
It can take longer than a traditional transaction, but for buyers willing to be patient, there can be unique opportunities.
