Life really has a way of keeping us busy, doesn’t it? The to-do lists get longer, and there is always another reason to wait. I have found myself saying “Maybe next year” or “Once things calm down.” But here is the truth: there often is never a perfect time.

We recently took some time away in Montana, and it was such a good reminder of why making time for these trips matters. Getting away with my husband and our dog, slowing down a little, and ending the day with views like these was exactly the kind of reset I didn’t realize I needed. Sometimes the best memories really are the simple ones — being together, exploring somewhere beautiful, and actually taking the time to enjoy it.

We spend so much time waiting for the right moment that someday you might just find that you’ve run out of moments altogether. Those same responsibilities and routines that you’ve made to build yourself up can become the thing that pulls you away from the reason you are doing it all in the first place.

Taking the trip, trying the new thing, or saying "yes" to an adventure isn’t about being reckless or ignoring your commitments; it’s about recognizing that your time is valuable, too. You don’t have to drop everything and book a plane ticket tomorrow, but you can start making it a priority.

I know as a real estate agent, I’m supposed to tell you to spend your time and money responsibly, especially if homeownership or real estate investing is a dream you have your heart set on. And hey, I am here to help with that too! I love helping people find the perfect home or make smart moves to build their future wealth. Those are goals worth pursuing, and they absolutely matter. But here’s the thing, while it’s essential to plan for the future, it’s just as important not to lose sight of the present.

The memories you make today, whether it’s a weekend getaway, dinner with friends, or checking something off your bucket list, are part of what makes life rich and fulfilling. You don’t have to choose between living now and planning for the future; you can balance both. After all, a house becomes a home because of the experiences you have and the people you share it with, not just because it’s a smart financial decision.

If you’re waiting for a sign, here it is: take the trip. ❤️

Time for a history lesson. Anytime someone uses the phrase "plain vanilla," as if it somehow means boring or unoriginal, I kind of laugh to myself. Apparently, most don't know the real history of vanilla.

For starters, it's the second most expensive spice in the world ( #1 is saffron). Vanilla is the only edible fruit out of 35,000 species of orchid. Frankly, it's a statistical miracle. It requires a special tropical climate to grow, and each flower blooms for, wait for it... one day.

Pound for pound, vanilla seeds are worth more than silver.

Historically, only kings could afford such a rare delicacy as vanilla.

Not to mention the invention of ice cream itself, which would have required sending an expedition to the mountains to bring back ice during a hot summer. And yet here I am, casually enjoying this frozen dessert flavored with one of the most miraculous spices in the world. 🍦

You may call it "plain vanilla." I call it a miracle.

Modern life is pretty amazing if you have an attitude of gratitude. 🙂

P.S. Is there anything better than an ice cream cone from Dreamies Creamery? Rhetorical question... no, there's not.

One of my favorite ways to spend a day off? Out on the water with my husband.

Real estate can be busy, so having time to slow down, unplug, and enjoy Oregon's incredible lakes is something we never take for granted. Whether it's a quick afternoon on the boat or an entire weekend soaking up the sunshine, it's one of our favorite ways to recharge.

Moments like these are a big reminder of why I love calling this area home. Living here isn't just about finding the right house—it's about having access to all the things that make life enjoyable, from beautiful lakes and outdoor adventures to spending quality time with the people you love most.

These are the kinds of memories that make this place so special.
What's your favorite way to enjoy an Oregon summer?

One of my favorite things about exploring local businesses is finding places that make healthy eating feel easy - even on a busy day.

After hearing good things about Sūco Café Express, I finally decided to stop by and see what all the hype was about for myself.

I ordered the Signature Avocado Toast and the Malibu Morning Smoothie, and both were absolutely worth it. Everything tasted fresh, the menu had plenty of healthy options, and it felt like the kind of place you could quickly become a regular at.

What stood out most, though, was the atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, nothing felt rushed, and it was clear they genuinely care about creating a great experience for every customer who walks through the door.

As someone whose days are often packed with appointments, showings, and meetings, I really appreciate finding places where I can grab something quick, healthy, and delicious without sacrificing quality.

If you're looking for a new breakfast or lunch spot in the Salem area, I'd definitely recommend giving Suco Juice Bar a try.

Have you been yet? If so, what's your favorite order?

These first-time homebuyers received:

✅ $12,000 in seller-paid closing costs

✅ A brand-new sewer line

✅ A freshly painted exterior

And a home that fits their family of five.

But when they first reached out to me over a year ago, they weren’t quite ready to buy yet.

Together, we created a plan. They spent several months saving, preparing, and getting themselves into a stronger position before restarting their home search.

Once they were ready, inventory was limited in the area they originally wanted, so we stayed flexible, expanded the search, and eventually found the right home.

Then came inspections.

We discovered a sewer line issue and concerns with the exterior paint. The seller initially pushed back, but through negotiations we were able to secure major repairs and concessions that saved these buyers thousands of dollars.

One thing I always tell buyers is that finding the house is only part of the job. Having someone who can help anticipate issues, negotiate solutions, and protect your interests throughout the process can make a huge difference.

Congratulations to this wonderful family on their first home! Thank you for trusting me throughout the journey. ❤️
