Decompressing After the Shift 🧠🛡️

When your daily work requires high situational awareness, your nervous system doesn't automatically switch off the moment you clock out. Hyper-vigilance keeps you safe on duty, but carrying it home can lead to exhaustion and strain on family life.

Try this actionable decompression tool:
-Set a hard boundary zone: Choose a specific spot on your commute (a park, a parking lot, or even your driveway) to pause for 5–10 minutes.
-Physical reset: Take deep, controlled box breaths (inhale 4s, hold 4s, exhale 4s, hold 4s) to signal to your body that the threat level is zero.
-Mental shift: Consciously change out of your uniform or work mindset before engaging with family.
