Most buyers naturally focus on the purchase price and interest rate, but the true cost of owning a home includes more than the mortgage.

Property taxes, homeowners insurance and ongoing maintenance can all affect what fits comfortably into your monthly budget. Insurance costs can also vary from one property to another based on factors such as the home’s age, roof, location, construction and coverage needs.

Researching these costs early helps you compare homes with a clearer picture, and may prevent an unwelcome surprise later.

There are some neighborhoods you drive through and immediately want to slow down for—and King William is definitely one of them.

The architecture. The towering trees. The porches. The little details you just don’t see in newer homes. There’s something special about a neighborhood where every house seems to have its own personality and a story behind it.

It’s also one of the things I love about San Antonio: you can explore different parts of the city and feel like you’ve stepped into an entirely different place.

Have you ever walked into a home and thought, “There’s no way this is only ___ square feet!”?

There’s a reason for that.

Square footage tells you how much space a home has, but not how well that space works.

Two homes can have almost identical square footage and feel completely different once you step inside. Room placement, traffic flow, storage, natural light, and even how much space is devoted to hallways can make one home feel considerably larger and more functional than another.

It’s also why I encourage buyers not to automatically rule out a home based on square footage alone. Sometimes the home that looks a little smaller on paper is the one that feels just right in person. 🏡

Good design makes every square foot count.
