Whether you are buying or selling it's important to work with a professional to ensure that you are navigating the real estate tides properly. Real Estate is local and sometimes hyper-local.

Working with a knowledgeable real estate agent who is up to date with market trends and what it takes to make each transfer of ownership smooth and successful is of the utmost importance.

Who you work with matters.

Going through the process of buying my first home in the early 2000's with a new home builder and going through all of the nuances of which I had no idea we would encounter was at times overwhelming, to say the least. We didn't know what we didn't know and that was scary. We were expecting our 3rd baby and throughout that time I served as the supervisor to the the construction manager...not by choice but by necessity.

After this experience and b/c I wanted to provide the guidance that I wish I received I became a real estate agent and got my license in 2008 (one of the toughest real estate markets on record).

Don't do real estate alone. There are so many variables when it comes to researching, walking properties, negotiating, and having the right team on your side to assist and provide solutions.

There is an ongoing debate about whether pools add to, detract from, or don't measurably affect the value of a home, but the bottom line is that it all depends on the buyer. A buyer interested in a luxury property located in a warm climate may not even consider purchasing a home without a built-in pool.
