As you can see in the example above, the down payment assistance program would help you cover the down payment. 1st Step in the home buying process:
Unless you are paying in cash for a home, find a lender so that you can be qualified for a mortgage loan.
3 reasons to secure your financing 1st:
1. Time: So you don’t waste your time looking for homes, only to be disappointed if you don’t qualify.
2. How much you can buy: Your lender will determine how much you can qualify for.
3. Credit issues: if there is a problem, you can devise a plan with your lender to get you qualified.
This maybe contrary to what other Realtors advise. They typically want to you seek them out first. I recommend finding a Realtor first, only if you need guidance in where to look for a lender.
