​Texas has enacted one of the most meaningful animal welfare laws in the state's history! The Safe Outdoor Dogs Act is officially here to protect our furry friends from cruelty and extreme weather.

​Here is how this life-saving law protects dogs:

🚫 No More Heavy Chains: It is now completely illegal to tether dogs using heavy chains or attached weights.

🏡 Right to Shelter: Owners are legally required to provide adequate shelter that protects dogs from scorching heat, freezing cold, high winds, and standing water.

⚖️ Immediate Rescue: Crucially, the law removes the old 24-hour waiting period. Law enforcement can now intervene immediately to save a dog in distress!
