This home in the I-10 and Culebra area was a tricky one. There were title issues that were over 30 years in the making. The Seller had tried to sell the house multiple other times, but no other homebuyer had been able to deliver.

The home had been in the Seller’s family for decades. The Seller’s mother inherited the house from her parents and left the house to our Seller in her will. However, the mother remarried in the mid 70s, and added the stepfather to the deed. At some point, the stepfather left; he eventually passed away in the 80s.

The title to the house was never changed. This left 30 years of heirs over multiple states that needed to be discovered or tracked down to clear the title. We signed a contract with the Seller and helped her hire an attorney to begin work to clear the title. It was a very long road, but after 11 months, we succeeded in clearing the title and closing on the property.
