If your lower back hurts and stretching it has not helped, you have been working on the wrong spot.

Sitting shortens the front of your hips. Your pelvis tips. Your back ends up carrying the difference.

Back knee down. Front foot planted. Hips press forward, not down.

Roughly two minutes a side, slow, no pushing.

A Gold Rush era cattle ranch in Siskiyou County is becoming public land. Roughly 14,000 acres, same family since 1961, closing at the end of October.

My family has been outside all year. Yosemite, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Mammoth, hot springs in the Sierras.

So more public land is something I'm genuinely glad about, and I'll be out there with my kids.

But every article about this is written from the buyer's side. That's how these stories always get written. Nobody wrote a line about the family who held it for 65 years.

I'm not saying they were wrong. I'm saying it was permanent, and permanent is a different category than right or wrong.

Some decisions are decisions. Some close a door behind you. They feel identical in the moment.
