Meet Ernie, a beautiful Labrador/Shepherd mix. Ernie is almost 3 years old and weighs about 50 pounds. This boy is SO well behaved; great on the leash, knows and listens to all of his commands, house and crate trained, and LOVES his people. Ernie also loves other dogs and spends his days playing and wrestling with his foster brothers. No cats though for Ernie as he thinks they are for nothing other than chasing around the yard. Ernie is a bit of a snorer when he’s asleep, and because his tongue sticks out of his mouth during naps, he makes an adorable little bubble sound while snoozing. Ernie also carries around his favorite toys with him and will gladly share them with his people to instigate a little tug of war. To sum it up, Ernie is the man! Meet Bambi, a 2 year old mix of probably every breed out there. What can we say; she’s Baja’s best! Bambi came into the rescue very pregnant and severely malnourished. Sadly, she lost all of her puppies, but she is quickly gaining weight and strength, and for the first time in her life, Bambi is feeling happy and safe allowing her playful puppy personality to shine. Bambi bounces around the yard like a deer when she plays with her foster siblings, and the medium sized male dog has become her favorite partner in crime. She is a little wary of some of the larger dogs she lives with, so Bambi would do best with medium/small dog in her forever home. She is very gentile taking treats, loves her toys, and is a very affectionate little girl; if you don’t like kisses with 35 pounds of wagging tail sitting on your lap, there’s really nothing for you to see here. Meet Redford, but if you need a moment to compose yourself after seeing how handsome he is, totally understandable. Besides his strikingly good looks, Redford also has the amazing Pit personality, and you’ll wonder how an amazing little soul like him has to look so hard for a loving home. Redford only wants human company; he accepts other dogs and tolerates them, but after being on the street for years alone, he has lost a little of his pack mentality. Redford has great manners, walks exceptionally well on the leash, and stops every person who walks by so he can say a quick hello. Besides walks, playing with toys, and snuggling in bed, Redford LOVES car rides and would make a great road trip buddy. I understand that because of the stigma attached to pit bulls you may be on the fence about adopting one, but as a pit dad I can attest to the fact that they are the sweetest dogs in the world and if you give them love, you will receive it back ten fold. Meet Pebbles, but just consider her a 10- pound extension of yourself because Pebbles is attached to her people. About 6 or 7 years old and a Chihuahua mix, Pebbles is up to date on all her vaccines, microchipped, and completely house trained. Pebbles loves all other dogs that she comes in contact with, but remember, in her mind, Pebbles comes first, so if you’re petting another dog, she’s going to wiggle her way into the action. Pebbles loves going for walks and spends her time slowly sniffing and cataloging all the good smells she comes across, and after, a good nap with her human is all she needs. At 2 years old and approximately 50 pounds, Chapel is just about that perfect size for just about any adventure you decide to share with her. Chapel is very food motivated and loves her treats, and will sit very politely when asked, as long as there is something in your hand for her! If you rub her ears just right, not only will she fall asleep in your hands but will make the funniest mouth bubbling sound since her tongue hangs out when she naps. Piper is the poster dog for flexible energy; she will provide some sweet snoring music as a soundtrack for your morning, but as soon as it’s time to go outside, expect some serious play time with zoomies. Piper adores people and it is clear she has a special spot in her heart for children, and all she wants is to be part of the group. Walks, jogging, naps, tug of war; it just doesn’t matter to Piper. Meet Tater, an adorable Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Doberman mix with quite a few other breeds mixed in for good measure. This sweetheart is about a year and a half old, 55 pounds, and up to date on vaccinations and meds. Tater is a hardcore cuddler so that will be a must in her forever home. A very active young lady, Tater would make a great running partner, outdoor buddy, or swimming friend as she absolutely loves the water. Playing with other dogs is one of her favorite things to do and she has quickly bonded with her foster dog siblings, and even loves the cat she lives with. Being she is so socialized, we feel she may do best in a home with another dog or at the least a home where she can continue to socialize with other pups.
