RIVERSIDE COUNTY — The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) alerts the public that Elsinore Maintenance crew will perform road maintenance operations on Interstate 215 (I-215) and Interstate 15 (I-15) in Murrieta and Lake Elsinore. Weather permitting.

Work will occur Wednesday, November 12th to Friday, November 14th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The following are planned work and closure locations:
Wednesday, November 12th: Northbound/Southbound I-215 #1 lane moving closure from Clinton Keith Road to Murrieta Hot Springs Road for a pavement marker repair operation.

Thursday, November 13th: Northbound/Southbound I-215 #2 lane moving closure from Clinton Keith Road to Murrieta Hot Springs Road for a pavement marker repair operation.

Friday, November 14th: Northbound I-15/Southbound I-15 #3 lane moving closure from Bundy Canyon Road to Main Street for a pavement marker repair operation.

Watch for signage alerting motorists of upcoming maintenance and remember to reduce your speed in and surrounding the work zone.

*Repost from MurrietaPD* Not only have we had a ton of requests, but city staff have also been receiving requests for us to revisit e-bike laws, the city ordinance and some best practices as it relates to identifying types of e-bikes/motorcycles, acceptable uses and necessary safety equipment.

Today we will try to start by identifying the difference between an e-bike and a e-motorcycle.

E-Bike:
Pedal assisted
Max speed 28 MPH
Motor provides assistance
No age limit
Riders under 18 must wear helmet
E-Motorcycle:
No pedals
Max speed +60 MPH
Powerful motors
Illegal on public streets
License Endorsement required

E-motorcycles present many potential dangers including severe crashes and injuries similar to those on traditional motorcycles, especially for young, inexperienced riders. Increased speeds, inappropriate safety gear, and a lack of awareness of operating responsibilities contribute to these significant risks.
