Over 15 years of Makers Quarters’ evolution, one truth continues to reveal itself: thriving urban neighborhoods are ultimately shaped by the people who commit to them.
The vision for the IDEA District and Makers Quarter has always been about creating space for creativity, entrepreneurship, and human connection to take root.
Inspired by that possibility, Sophia Culpepper imagined Black & Grey Atelier as more than a tattoo studio. She created a beautifully intentional space where artistry, trust, and personal storytelling converge—an atelier in the truest sense of the word.
Her presence in the neighborhood reflects the passion, grit, and artistic conviction it takes to build something lasting—to stay committed through every high and low, and continue creating with purpose.
