I have always thought that the best time to buy or sell a home is when it is best for you or your family. Personally I think the sooner the better - but when you are ready - then that is the time for you.

With the 1/2 point rate drop - pundits are going nuts saying now is the best time - though mortgage rates - so far - have not dropped much.

What do you think? Is timing the market a good thing? Is this the time to make one of the biggest financial moves of your life?

It's time to get the paperwork in order, the best time to buy a home, according to Realtor.com is very quickly approaching.

Having a rent cap may seem like a way to keep rents lower - but it does the opposite of its intent and harms the people they think they are helping. I hope this doesn't pass into law.

We need to make it easier to increase our housing stock and cheaper to insure our properties. That subject matter might be harder to explain - but its the most effective way to bring down the cost of housing.

A new White House plan unveiled Tuesday calls for capping rents at 5% per year on landlords who own more than 50 units. Here’s why it likely won’t help.

I was listening to "Leading an Inspired Life" this morning by Jim Rohn. The book - written in 1996 - referenced how expensive housing was and questioned whether the American Dream of home ownership was dead because houses were so expensive. Here is a comparison of home prices now versus when that book came out:

Median Home Price in San Diego County
1996 - $171,074
2024 - $989,000 (June)

Homes are not cheap - but it is still the best and safest investment in the mid-term and long-term. These graphs show you why.
