What do most buyers regret after closing on a home?

Surprisingly, it's usually not the house itself.

Over the years, I've seen buyers regret things like focusing too much on features, stretching their budget too far, or overlooking how a neighborhood would impact their daily life.

In this week's blog, I'm sharing the 5 most common regrets buyers experience after closing—and how to avoid them before making one of the biggest purchases of your life.

What's one piece of advice you'd give someone buying a home today?

Buying a home is one of the biggest financial decisions most people will ever make. Whether you're purchasing your first home or your fifth, it's natural to focus on finding the perfect property.

Life doesn’t wait for interest rates.

Most people don’t move because rates hit a certain number.

They move because life happens.

A growing family.
A new job.
A divorce.
An empty nest.
A fresh start.

The question isn’t:

“Will rates drop?”

The question is:

“Does moving make sense for my life right now?”

If you’re thinking about buying, selling, downsizing, relocating, or simply exploring your options, let’s talk through what makes sense for you.

🏡 Who’s actually buying and selling homes right now?

It’s one of the most common questions I hear.

While some people are waiting for lower interest rates, many buyers and sellers are moving forward because of something much more important:

Life.

Families grow.
People retire.
Job opportunities arise.
Couples get married.
Kids leave for college.
Properties are inherited.

In this week’s blog, I share why today’s housing market has become what I call an event-driven market and why life often matters more than trying to perfectly time the market.

If you've been following the housing market lately, you've probably seen countless headlines about mortgage rates, affordability, and whether now is the right time to buy or sell a home.

🏡 JUST SOLD | Las Vegas, NV

This sale was especially meaningful.

I was referred to a family who needed help selling their mother’s home after her passing. Since they lived outside of Nevada, they needed someone they could trust to handle the details, coordinate the process, and keep everything moving forward from a distance.

I’m happy to share that we were able to successfully sell the property at asking price and help make a difficult situation a little easier for the family.

Congratulations to the new buyers who are relocating to Las Vegas and starting an exciting new chapter of their own.

One of the things I love most about real estate is being able to step in and help people through important life transitions—whether they’re buying their first home, relocating, or navigating the sale of a loved one’s property.

Thank you to my clients for trusting me with the sale of their mother’s home. ❤️

Thinking about selling your home this summer?

The market isn’t impossible.
It’s just different than it was a few years ago.

The homes that are selling successfully aren’t always the cheapest, newest, or biggest.

They’re the homes that are:
✔️ Priced correctly
✔️ Presented well
✔️ Marketed strategically
✔️ Launched with a plan

In this carousel, I’m sharing 5 things every homeowner should know before putting their home on the market this summer.

Whether you’re thinking about selling next month or next year, understanding what’s happening now can help you make smarter decisions when the time comes.

👇 Curious…

If you were going to sell your home tomorrow, what would be your biggest concern?

What buyers say during showings is often very different from what sellers expect.

After years in real estate, I’ve learned that buyers usually decide how they feel about a home within the first few minutes and sometimes even seconds.

And in today’s market, where buyers are more selective and comparing everything carefully, the small details matter more than ever.

I just shared a new blog about:
✔️ what buyers quietly notice during showings
✔️ why some homes create emotional connection faster than others
✔️ and the small changes that can make a major impact before listing

If you’re thinking about selling, this is an important read.

A lot of people think buyers are waiting right now because of mortgage rates or home prices.

But honestly? I’m seeing something different here in San Diego.
Many buyers aren’t frozen because they can’t buy but they’re overwhelmed by the pressure of making such a big decision in today’s world.

In my newest blog, I’m talking about:
• buyer hesitation in today’s market
• the emotional side of home buying
• what motivated buyers are doing differently
• and why timing your life matters more than perfectly timing the market

If you’ve been feeling uncertain about buying a home lately, you’re definitely not alone.

Somewhere between boxing classes, beach sunsets, dog walks, luxury taste, busy schedules, and realizing your current place just doesn’t fit your lifestyle anymore… people start wanting more than just a San Diego zip code. ☀️🌴

They want a home that actually fits the life they’re building.

And honestly, that’s my favorite part of real estate.

Whether it’s a shorter commute, more space, walkability, room for the dogs, ocean views, a growing family, or finally getting that walk-in closet 😂. I love helping people find the version of San Diego that feels right for them.

Okay now I need to know… which ad is your favorite? 👀

Not every home is performing the same right now.

Some homes are still attracting strong offers and holding value exceptionally well... While others are sitting longer and seeing price reductions.

I shared some of the biggest trends I’m seeing across the San Diego market in my newest blog:

“The Homes Quietly Holding Their Value Best Right Now.”

The market is becoming much more selective, and understanding what buyers truly value today matters more than ever.
