Big changes are on the way at San Diego International Airport as plans move forward to modernize Terminal 2 East. ⬇️🚨The project is designed to upgrade the passenger experience with a renovated headhouse, concourse, baggage systems, utilities, and both landside and airside improvements—all while keeping the airport fully operational during construction. Airport officials say the goal is to improve efficiency and prepare the terminal for future travel demand, not increase flight operations. (CEQAnet)

The Terminal 2 revamp comes as San Diego continues investing billions into transforming its airport, following the opening of the new Terminal 1. Once complete, travelers can expect a more modern, efficient, and seamless experience from curb to gate, helping one of the nation’s busiest single-runway airports keep up with the region’s continued growth. ✈️🌴

Downtown San Diego is getting even better. 🌿🏙️ A brand-new Whole Foods Market is coming to the base of The Torrey in Little Italy, giving downtown residents their first full-service Whole Foods and adding another major amenity to one of the city’s fastest-growing neighborhoods.

With hundreds of new apartments, walkable streets, and now a premium grocery store, downtown San Diego continues to evolve into a true live-work-play destination. This is a huge win for residents and another sign that the heart of the city keeps growing. 🌆

Navy Band Southwest will perform a free concert of patriotic music Thursday, August 27th at Progress Park in downtown San Diego.

The hour-long concert starts at 6 p.m., and guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for comfort.

Progress Park is located at 999 N. Harbor Drive (at W. Broadway).

Navy Band Southwest is one of the Navy’s finest and oldest continuing musical organizations.

Now with over 100 years of support to the San Diego community, the band serves as the musical ambassador for the Commander, Navy Region Southwest. Under the direction of Lt. Cmdr. Matthew Shea, the band calls Naval Base San Diego home.

San Diego’s future Central Green is continuing to take shape in the heart of Downtown, bringing the vision of a large new public park one step closer to reality. Planned for the East Village, the park is expected to become a major gathering space with open lawns, walking paths, shaded seating, play areas, and spaces for community events. As thousands of new homes continue to be built nearby, Central Green is designed to provide much-needed green space for residents, visitors, and families alike. Coming this FALL 🚨⬇️

While construction is progressing in phases, the project represents one of the biggest investments in public open space for Downtown San Diego in years. Once completed, Central Green is expected to transform the surrounding neighborhood by creating a vibrant destination where people can relax, exercise, attend events, and enjoy the outdoors in the middle of the city.
