Small kitchen, big question: how do you make narrow, open shelving actually functional?

This client called us during her move because she was feeling overwhelmed by her new kitchen- especially the open shelves. They were narrow, completely visible, and she wasn’t sure how they would work for everyday life.

Our goal was to create a system that made sense for how she actually uses her kitchen.

We started by staging everything, figuring out what belonged where, and then thoughtfully placing products to maximize the space without making it feel crowded.

And the open shelves? They ended up working beautifully.

Proof that even the trickiest spaces can become both functional and beautiful with the right systems.

Can we make school mornings just a little easier?

One of our favorite ways to do that is creating a dedicated lunch-making zone.

When everything lives together and is easy for kids to reach, they can actually take ownership of packing their lunches instead of asking, “Mom, where’s my water bottle?” 47 times. 😂

A functional lunch zone should include the things your family reaches for every day, without overcomplicating the system.

One of the biggest surprises after organizing hundreds of homes?

The homes that look the most organized aren’t always the easiest to live in.

Beautiful cabinetry, matching containers, and plenty of storage can certainly help—but they don’t necessarily create systems that last.

The homes that stay organized over time have something else in common: they were designed around the people living in them.

That’s the difference.
